STRIDERS WALK SCHEDULE for 2024

Striders walks are approximately 5 miles led by guides.
All walk at their own risk, free of charge except for insurance cover etc. for which we charge a small annual fee.
Money will also be required to buy refreshments during or at the end of each walk. Please arrive at venue/bus stop 10 minutes early.
All walks are circular unless stated.
All buses start from the Buck Inn, High Street, Northallerton. (DL7 8LU)
Some walks require the use of cars.

A full proposed programme has been sent to all members by email and more detailed information will be sent out during the week prior to each walk.
Next Walk
Saturday 11th May - Bedale to Crakehall circular walk.
Meet at the Buck Inn Northallerton at 09:55. The No.73 Bus departs 10:05. Alight at White Bear pub at the junction at the top of the bank coming in from Aiskew to Bedale where the guides will greet you.
If you travel direct by car, park in the Bedale car parks (all day £1.80p) as most on-road parking is restricted to two hours, maybe some free spaces further along South End after the two hour zone. Meet at the White Bear at 10:30.
Route: A circular walk from Bedale via Kirkbridge passing through Green Gate farm on the way to Crakehall for a break near Crakehall mill. Returning to Bedale by field paths, lanes and byroads.
Distance: The walk is about 5 miles - Time: 2 hours 30 mins
Difficulty: Mainly on public field pathways and lanes, reasonably flat ground. Some stiles and gates. Depending on conditions on the day boots or trainers can be worn. A few friendly sheep in one field. Other farm animals may be seen away from the path.
Finish: Refreshments are available at pubs and cafés in Bedale. The Black Swan are expecting us but you can choose where to eat.
Return bus to Northallerton 13:35, 14.05, and 14.35, (for a later bus see the bus stand timetable)
